FDA Clearance is the process by which the Food and Drug Administration clears food, drugs, medical devices and other products. Vioguard was the first company to receive FDA clearance for UV-C technology. It is a rigorous process that can take months or even years. The technology was taken through a series of tests to determine the accuracy at which it inactivated pathogens. It was determined to have a 99.99% inactivation rate.
